Chocolate With Heritage

Chocolate has been made right here in Norwich since the late 1700s, when Norwich entrepreneur Christopher Leffingwell operated what historians identify as Connecticut’s first chocolate mill. Centuries later, we bring that chocolate-making tradition back to Norwich—doing it slowly, simply, and with an appreciation for how chocolate was made before industrial shortcuts took over.

We roast our own cacao and keep our recipes intentionally simple, using no fillers, waxes, or preservatives. This is chocolate with personality. You might notice natural swirls, subtle variations in color and texture. We don’t hide those characteristics—they’re beautiful signs of real, minimally processed, handcrafted chocolate.

And just like our coffee, we believe origin matters. Cacao grown in Peru can taste remarkably different from cacao grown somewhere else in the world. That’s why we focus on single-origin cacao, highlighting the natural flavors.

Think of each bar as another stamp in your chocolate passport: destination to destination, origin to origin, you can travel the world through chocolate with Craftsman Cliff Roasters.

For this bar, your destination is Peru—70% dark chocolate with natural notes of Brownie • Cashew Butter • Orange Blossom.

Please enjoy. See you in chocolate bliss!
